Our 5 Day North Vietnam Rice Fields Tour is a great trip for those who short in time. We start from Hanoi all the way to the beautiful mountains area Passing through ‘Duong Lam’ the ancient village up to the breathtaking Vietnam rice fields: Mu Cang Chai and Y Ty.
The best time to visit this region is from June till October when local people crop their rice and interacting with them during agricultural activities is available.
Day 1
HANOI β Arrival
Once you arrive in Hanoi Airport, we will pick you up and take you to visit Ngoc Ha β a little village located right in the center of Hanoi city and look like an Oasis within the city.
Ngoc Ha is nice to start with, allowing you to see the hidden and non-touristic local place. You get a chance to see the daily life activities of local people. While walking through the village You will not be able NOT to see the relics of the wreckage of B52 right in the middle of the village. One that was shot down from the Christmas Bombing back in 1972.
Then, before we continue for our afternoon out, You Check first in the hotel. Then we’ll walk to Hanoi Old Quarter β a beautiful place for some photography as well as the best food quarter in town.
We continue then with a short walk around Hoan Kiem Lake β the very scenic area of the city. Visit the Temple of Literature β the central culture of old architecture as well as great sculpture and scenery of the temple.
We will end this day around sunset time on old and fascinating Long Bien Bridge β the old bridge was designed and built by Eiffel back in 1903.

Day 2
Hanoi – Duong Lam Village β Nghia Lo
In the morning, after having nice breakfast we drive to the ancient village of Duong Lam, the beautiful village that still preserves many hundred-year-old houses, therefore, it received its name: βHoi An of the Red River Deltaβ
Inside the village, you’ll be able to walk along tiny ancient alleys, visit a ‘Communal House’ in Mong Phu hamlet β the only hamlet whose original entrance gate remains intact and dedicated to national heroes. There, you will enjoy the great home-hosted lunch in a traditional atmosphere. You are to be a guest in the most beautiful ancient house in the village of Mr. Huyen.
Then we will drive up to Nghia Lo enjoying the beautiful scenery of the mountain area along the way. before arriving in Nghia Lo, we will stop to visit Thai village of Mong people along the way.

Day 3
Nghia Lo β Mu Cang Chai Terraced Rice Fields
Today we take a long and beautiful drive from Nghia Lo to Mu Cang Chai. A winding road will take us the breathtaking first stop for a photograph-The rice field in Tu Le and amazing Lim Mong Valley.
Prepare your camera (or phone).. You’ll be taking great photos of this valley, both in the valley below and from the high view point on KhauPha Pass of the amazing rice field. The route going through KhauPha is one of most beautiful passes in the North of Vietnam.
Then we will enjoy the great scenery of the terrace rice field at Mu Cang Chai β the most beautiful terrace rice field in Vietnam which was recognized as one of the Vietnamese National Heritage.
Later on, we take a short drive from Mu Cang Chai to Ba Nha. There you can take a nice hike up to mountain in order to get your ultimate photos.. You get to the most impressive rice field in Mu Cang Chai. Just few steps uphill and you will feel like in a different world, peaceful and beautiful that you might want to spend the whole morning there; The amazing rice field, scenery, and hill tribe people in their village right below you like in a picture.
The whole afternoon, we will continue to another beautiful venue: La Pan Tan terrace rice field and surrounded area. Again, prepare your camera for this will be one of the best photos shooting on the whole trip.

Day 4
Mu Cang Chai β Than Uyen β Y TY Terraced Rice Fields
This morning, after breakfast of course, we’ll head to the most scenic day on the whole trip. We will drive first, for about 40 km from Mu Cang Chai to Than Uyen passing through some beautiful rice field along the road.
Upon arrival to Than Uyen, you will see the spectacular Hoang Lien Son mountain range. Then take a short hike along the rice field up to the village of Thai people at the foot of the mountain.
After that, we continue driving from Than Uyen to Tram Ton Pass β the highest point of beautiful Hoang Lien Son Mountain. The great viewpoints of the mountains area along the way will leave you with nice memories for life. Then drive to Y Ty β the isolated terrace rice field near the Chinese Border. Upon arrival, visit the impressive village of the Ha Nhi people near the town.

Day 5
Y TY Terraced Rice Fields – Hanoi
This morning we will have a chance to see all the best venues in Y Ty such as the rice field near the city, A Lu Rice field, scenery near A Mu Sung and then drive to Lao Cai.
We begin to head back to Hanoi but this time on new highway. Arrive to Hanoi in late afternoon.
